A toast to the new “EppLa”
The merger of the two Hessian handball clubs TSG Eppstein and TGS Langenhain from the Main-Taunus district near Frankfurt am Main, Germany, has broken new ground. The name “HSG EppLa” was created within the club’s own ranks for the new team.
At the beginning, there were certainly concerns that the name could be misunderstood with regard to the Hessian cult drink “Äppler”, a sweet or sourly sprayed apple wine spritzer.
However, they did not want to appear boring and decided on this name, which is easy to learn and very memorable, especially in the Rhine-Main area, also with regard to marketing.
Now, after a long corona break, the team is looking forward to the upcoming training and perhaps also to one or two original Äppler after the end of the training. We wish you much success.
